Fondazione Fotografia commissioned the work for a collective exhibition about Italian earthquakes and the challenge of representing these events. Starting from studies of historical seismology, that collects evidence of seismic events in a given area, I designed a route through different Italian territories hit by destructive events both in the ancient and more recent past. I focused my work on the Abruzzo region and the area surrounding Montegibbio. The recurrent earthquakes that ravaged these territories became an entry point to discover their culture and history. The photos are associated with texts detailing the history of the places portrayed.
